2.2.7 Character map
Notes about my character:
Nerd - Rupert

He is a 14 years old male who enjoys school and homework. He is currently getting
bullied as he is a teachers pet.

He thinks that he is genuinely a nice person. He also thinks that he could be a good
friend to someone if they would just give him a chance and stop judging him just
because he enjoys school work. He doesn’t do anything about the bullying because he
believes that they will eventually stop.

He wants to help kids with school work so he will make friends but no one likes him for
who he is they just use him for homework. He wants a good education so he can start a
career as an accountant.

People don’t like him because he is a teachers pet and is always snitching on other
students. They think that he should get a life and think he is weird because he likes to do
homework. They bully him continuously for little things like how he dresses to school
and organizes classrooms before lessons.

Acting decisions:
How will the information gathered on the map influence the way you play the
character?
The information gathered on this character map will influence me play the character as
when I am thinking of how to portray the character I just dig into the background
information of the character like the information on the character map and I will think
to myself how I can show this on stage to a fellow audience. With this information I can
put all the feelings of the situations and what people think about the character and put
it into facial expressions and body language during the performance.
